Morrison Hershfield Lynx
Lynx is for young skiers aged 9 to 12 years old who wish to improve their overall cross-country ski skills and share funs moments in a group environment.
Our aim is to provide a fun program that will enhance the skiers’ enjoyment of the sport and increase their overall ski skills. Sessions will have a base element of skill instruction as well as plenty of time simply skiing with the group but will also make use of games and drills to enhance learning, improve fitness and enjoyment. While we will invite Lynx skiers to enter races or events if they are interested, this is not a racing group and is not intended to train skiers to race.
There will be 2 options for skiers participating in Lynx this year:
Lynx 1 - a one day per week option that will focus on high-paced game and drills on trails immediately surrounding the Chalet. (Wednesday evening from mid-November until March break)
Lynx 2 – a two day per week option. Skiers will be all together on Wednesdays and will also meet on Saturday morning to explore the Mount Mac trail network more fully. (Wednesday evening and Saturday Afternoon from mid-November until March break).
Both Lynx 1 and Lynx 2 are suited for skiers with an established interest and ability in the sport. If they are excited by the prospect of a ski to Harvey’s Hut or Sarah Steele Hut, then this is a good group for them.
If you would like to arrange a seasonal rental of equipment for use for the Lynx Program this season, please visit us at the Ski Club (please check our opening hours here), so we can fit your child for their boots, skis and poles for the season.
