Winter Sports Swap 2010

Winter Sports Swap is an annual event organized by the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski. It is the club's main fund raiser but more importantly, it is a Whitehorse tradition. The Swap is a sure sign that the ski season is about to begin!

When

Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to noon

Where

Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre (Grey Mountain Room)

How Does It Work?

You determine a price for the gear you want to sell and the club sells it for you. The ski club retains 20% of the sale price - (5% for the GST and 15% for the club). There is also a $1.00 tag fee charged for each item you want to sell. All tags are entered in a draw for door prizes. Articles for sale must be valued at $5.00 or more. There will be assistance available to determine the best price for your gear.

What Can I Sell?

All winter sports gear will be accepted for sale – cross country, downhill, snowboarding, hockey, figure skating, camping, backcountry touring, skijoring, broomball, curling! Almost anything, except snowmobiles and other motorized recreational gear. Swap organizers have the right to refuse any gear that is deemed to be outdated, unsafe, or unusable.

Drop Off

Drop off the gear that you want to sell at the Ski Base Service Centre located on the lower level of Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre, October 13 and October 14, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

OR

At the Grey Mountain Room located on the upper level of Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre, October 15, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Pick Up

Unsold items and cheques can be picked up between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 pm on Saturday October 16, 2010 in the Grey Mountain Room at Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre. Sellers will be paid with a cheque for all items sold.

Claim tags must be presented in order to receive payment and unsold items.

Due to lack of secure storage space, all unsold items left after 3:30 p.m. will be disposed of at the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club's discretion. Unclaimed payout cheques will be mailed or may be picked up at the Ski Base during regular hours. If you have any questions please call (867) 668-4477.

What Can I Use To Purchase Gear?

Cash, Cheques, Visa, Master Card and Debit Cards are accepted. To speed up your checkout, we advise that you use cash or cheque to pay for gear.

YOUR GEAR IS NEEDED TO HELP MAKE THIS A SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER! Check the garage, basement and shed for gear to recycle.
