Kids Ski Programs

The ski club offers learn to ski programs for children 4 to 12 years old. These non-competitive programs follow a progression of skills and are based on the idea of having fun on skis. The leaders and helpers are volunteers who have been certified through the Community Coaching Certification program.

• Subway Ski S'cool (Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2)

• Jackrabbits Ski Program (Ages 4 to 9)

• Lynx Ski Program (Ages 10 to 12)

• Snow Fun Program (Ages 6 to 14)

Ed Schiffkorn, A Club Pioneer

The ski community lost one of it's 'pioneers' last week. Ed Schiffkorn was a key figure in the early years of downhill and cross country skiing in Whitehorse. He was a downhill skier and participated in the Canada Winter Games in the 60's. He was instrumental in the development of downhilll skiing at Haekel Hill in the 70's.
