Jackrabbits Ski Program

Learn the basic skills of cross country skiing while having fun.

Jackrabbit Registration is now closed for the 2012 season. Registration for next season will be October 1, 2012.

Ages: Jackrabbits are 6 to 9 years old.

Cost: $50.00 plus ski club membership

Dates & Times:

Jackrabbit sessions begin:

Sundays: January 8, 2012 at 1:00 pm (meet in the Grey Mountain Room)
Mondays: January 9, 2012 at 3:30 pm (meet in the Ski Club Lounge Area)
Tuesdays: January 10, 2012 at 3:30 pm (meet in the Grey Mountain Room)
Wednesdays: January 11, 2012 at 3:30 pm (meet in the Ski Club Lounge area)

How To Register

Registration for the 2011/2012 Jackrabbit Ski Program will be held October 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. After October 1, register at the Ski Base Service Centre.  Space is limited.

Leaders Required

Leaders are required for the Jackrabbits Ski Program. Several coaching courses will be held in November and December for leaders to become qualified to lead and assist with the Jackrabbits Ski Program.  Leaders will have first priority for registering their children in the program.

Equipment Options

Parents are responsible for ensuring that their children are properly equipped for skiing.  The Ski Base, at Mt Mac will provide a clinic on October 1 to show parents how to properly outfit their children.  The clinic will start at 10:30 a.m. and run until 12:30 p.m.  Demonstrations will start on the 1/2 hour.

There are three options for supplying equipment: 

1.Purchase second hand -Ski Swap on October 15 -attend the Equipment Clinic first

2.Purchase new - Icycle Sport, Coast Mountain Sports, Sportslife - attend the Equipment Clinic first

3.Rental - Season rentals are available at The Ski Base - Learn more at the Equipment Clinic or go to The Ski Base website for details

Bunnies Ski Program

Getting comfortable on skis and having fun with friends and parents.

February is Challenge month, brought to you by Air North, the Yukon's Airline.  Ski the trails and earn a chance to win a super Air North flight.  How can you go wrong?  Lots of time to make your challenge - Earn your wings, be be a Bush Pilot or take the 737 or 748 Challenge.  New this year:  Snowshoe Challenge!
