Trail Worker of the Year - Craig Beatty
Another lifetime skier who can always be counted on to help out at anything, Craig has been a key player and has taken the lead in the conception, development and construction a recent addition to the club’s extensive trail system.
Monique Waterreus Award 2012
The Monique Waterreus Award is a $200 prize given to the junior skier with the best results at a national or international event.
This year the award went to two skiers, both previous award winners: Dahria Beatty and Janelle Greer.
Both skiers were chosen to represent Canada at the World Junior Championships last February in Turkey.
“Trying to pick one skier is always tough,” noted incoming club president Anne Kennedy. “We have had such a great depth of field for the last few years that the decision is getting harder and harder. It’s a great problem to have as a club.”
The two skiers train full time, living in Canmore and training at the Alberta World Cup Academy.
Nominations for club awards are always welcome. Please submit nominations to the ski club office.
