WINTER 2012 – 2013 Program
Glide into winter with cross-country skiing. Our Ski School director Rudy Sudrich has over 30 years of experience teaching and coaching all levels of skiers from beginners to Olympic caliber athletes. Assisting Rudy again this season will be Jennifer MacKeigan, an active orienteering coach and ski expert from Coast Mountain Sports who is available to teach our courses in French. Our instructors are CANSI and NCCP certified.
The following lessons are being offered in conjunction with the Whitehorse Cross-Country Ski Club on a continuous basis from November to April each year and take advantage of the ski club’s world-class facility and trails.

Easy Start
Get the basics in four fun lessons for $70 plus trail fees.
Need Equipment? Coast Mountain Sports will provide free rentals for these lessons.
The session is held Monday and Wednesday 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Sessions begin WednesdayNovember 21st and runs throughout the season.
Just Try It
Never skied? Don’t know what to do? Worried about asking “stupid” questions? Scared of falling? Don’t have equipment? Let Rudy help you out. With them you don’t need to worry and there are No stupid questions. Two fun lessons for only $40. If you need equipment, Coast Mountain Sports will throw in free rentals for these lessons. See staff for details.

Getting Better
For the beginner/ intermediate skier who wants to get better. The goal is to be comfortable skiing moderate terrain. Getting Better will emphasize skill development in both classic and skating technique as well as waxing and general fitness. Getting Better is comprised of eight 1½ hour lessons. The cost is $130.00 plus trail fees.
Monday and Wednesday 6:30 to 8:00PM. Begins Wednesday November 21st.
Getting Fast
For the strong intermediate skier. The goal is to be confident skiing on all terrain using classic or skating technique. In addition to working on your technique, Rudy will cover fitness training, nutrition, advance waxing and, of course, relaxation. Getting Faster is comprised of eight 2 hour lessons held twice a week and headlamps are required for the nighttime skiing beyond lit trails. The cost is $150.00 plus trail fees.
Sessions are Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 to 8:00PM.
Begins Tuesday November 20th.
Getting Fit
If you are an intermediate skier and your goal is to improve your Loppet time or your overall fitness then plan on joining Rudy for a weekly 2 hour workout, including skating and classic techniques. (Skating sessions are held when temperatures are warmer than -18C). The fee is $180 plus trails fees for 10sessions and includes assisting to create an individual training program.
Meet Saturday at 11:30 to 1:30 beginning November 23th, and runs continuously throughout the season.
Skating Class-Beginners
Experience the art of skating. Working towards the mastery of skating, these 6 lessons will develop techniques and training exercises to work towards perfecting today’s array of skating styles.
Cost: $150.00 plus trail fees, for six lessons
Sundays 12:30 pm in the Stadium
All of our courses require a minimum of 4 students to start the lessons.

Private Lessons
Time constraints? Want to focus on a specific technique? Then book a private or semi-private lesson. The cost is $40.00/hr for a private lesson, $20.00/hr per person for a semiprivate lesson and $15.00/hr per person for 3 or more people.
